The Investment Research Institute of the State Development Planning Commission forecasts that total fixed-asset investment during the "10th Five-Year Plan" period will reach 22 trillion yuan, with an average annual growth rate of 37%. Based on historical correlations between fixed-asset investment and machinery market consumption, the business opportunities within my country's machinery market during this period are estimated to range from 32 billion to 40 billion yuan. In the transportation sector, 100 billion yuan will be invested in western railway development alone during the "10th Five-Year Plan," with a further 700–800 billion yuan earmarked for western transportation infrastructure over the next decade—creating significant demand for specialized equipment such as wheel lathes, large-scale 2-meter sawing machines, and pipe-bending machines. Water conservancy projects will see investments of 530 billion yuan over the next five years, while environmental protection initiatives will receive 188.8 billion yuan in the first phase and 260 billion yuan in the second, driving huge demand for related machinery. Additionally, 300 machinery manufacturers are set to undergo technical upgrades, creating substantial demand for CNC pipe-bending machines. As of 2004, there were approximately 17,000 mold factories in China with an annual output value of around 53 billion yuan; the machinery required by these facilities leans toward high-precision, high-efficiency, and high-speed milling equipment, virtual-axis pipe-bending machines, composite machining centers, and slow-feeding wire-cut EDM machines. Reportedly, state investment in the equipment manufacturing industry will focus primarily on sectors such as aerospace, aviation, shipbuilding, automotive, ordnance, machinery, and electronic information.

Subcontracting and production of civil aircraft in the aviation industry are expanding further. The volume of subcontracted airliner parts for Boeing (USA) and Airbus (Europe) is set to increase significantly, while military aircraft and helicopters—both jointly produced with foreign partners and independently developed—are entering mass production. Manufacturing components such as wings, fuselages, tail sections, and engine parts requires large numbers of high-speed five-axis machining centers, gantry-type high-speed machining centers, precision CNC lathes, precision horizontal machining centers, multi-axis boring and milling centers, and precision gear and thread machining equipment.

The automotive manufacturing industry is a major consumer of CNC tube-bending machines, accounting for approximately 40% of total consumption. The growth in my country's annual automobile output is driving a substantial increase in the production of auto parts. The industry requires large quantities of high-efficiency, high-performance, specialized CNC tube-bending machines and flexible production lines—such as those centered on high-speed horizontal machining centers for engine production and specialized CNC tube-bending machines for crankshaft processing. Auto parts production requires significant numbers of CNC lathes, vertical and horizontal machining centers, high-efficiency CNC grinders, and CNC gear-processing equipment.

The ordnance manufacturing industry has a vast and diverse demand for CNC tube-bending machines, requiring high reliability and stability. There is significant market potential for domestically produced CNC tube-bending machines, as the industry requires large numbers of CNC lathes, vertical and horizontal machining centers, five-axis machining centers, gantry boring and milling machines, boring and milling centers, and gear-processing equipment.

The power generation equipment manufacturing sector requires heavy-duty CNC gantry boring and milling machines, large floor-type boring and milling machines, large CNC lathes, specialized milling machines for blade root slots, and CNC blade-processing equipment; meanwhile, the power transmission and distribution equipment sector requires CNC lathes, machining centers, and CNC boring machines. The metallurgical equipment manufacturing sector focuses on producing complete sets of continuous casting and rolling equipment, creating a demand for machinery such as large gantry milling machines and large CNC lathes.

my country’s development in railways, highways, energy, water conservancy, airports, and urban infrastructure drives a massive demand for construction machinery. The construction machinery manufacturing industry requires significant quantities of equipment, including CNC lathes, medium-sized machining centers, CNC milling machines, and gear processing machines.

In recent years, the national output value of the mold industry has seen substantial growth. my country still relies heavily on imports for large, precision, complex, and long-life molds; the market is concentrated primarily in East and South China, accounting for approximately 75% of national sales. Plans are currently underway to establish Asia's largest mold manufacturing base in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province. The mold manufacturing industry requires equipment such as high-speed CNC milling machines, coordinate measuring machines (CMMs), precision electrical machining equipment, high-precision machining centers, and precision grinders.

The electronic information equipment manufacturing industry relies on imports for 99.5% of its equipment. This sector requires a large number of small, precision CNC machines, such as high-speed milling centers, high-speed machining centers, small precision lathes, small precision punch presses, specialized CNC machines for precision and ultra-precision machining, and precision electrical machining equipment.
