1. To minimize energy consumption while ensuring the safe operation of friction components, prioritize the use of low-viscosity lubricating oils.

2. Use low-viscosity oils for friction components operating under high-speed, light-load conditions, and high-viscosity oils for those operating under low-speed, heavy-load conditions.

3. Select low-viscosity oils for low ambient temperatures and high-viscosity oils for high temperatures. Additionally, choose oils with high flash points for high-temperature environments and low pour points for low-temperature environments.

4. Conditions such as impact, vibration, reciprocating motion, and intermittent movement hinder the formation of a stable oil film; therefore, use higher-viscosity oils, greases, or solid lubricants to ensure reliable lubrication.

5. Use low-viscosity oils for friction pairs with tight clearances and for working surfaces requiring high machining precision.

6. Select lower-viscosity oils for mechanical circulation systems and slightly higher-viscosity oils for intermittent lubrication; use higher-viscosity oils for vertical surfaces, exposed gears, chains, and wire ropes. 7. If the specified grade of lubricating oil is unavailable, an oil of a similar grade may be used as a substitute or in a blend. When substituting, select an oil with a viscosity slightly higher than the specified value; when blending, avoid mixing oils that differ in properties or brand, or that contain additives.
