Pipe bending machines (often referred to as crimping machines in this context) are commonly found in chemical plants. As essential equipment within the facility, the following precautions should be observed during operation: 1. When crimping, position the fitting as close to the center of the die set as possible; avoid crimping over the hex nut. 2. Prevent tools or other foreign objects from entering the machine head. 3. After completing work, fully open the eight die segments; this keeps the springs in an extended state (preserving their elasticity) and relieves pressure on the hydraulic cylinder (extending the service life of the oil seals).
Key points for initial installation:
I. For the initial setup, fill the machine with 50 kg of #68 hydraulic oil (genuine, brand-name oil is recommended).
II. Installing the positioner: First, insert the positioner into the front of the machine head (note: it inserts directly); then, plug the other end into the corresponding socket inside the electrical control box.
III. Connect the power supply. If using a three-phase motor, ensure the rotation direction is correct (viewed from above, the motor fan should rotate clockwise for forward operation).
IV. Once the above steps are complete, the machine can be powered on for a test crimp.
V. Using the positioner: Rotating it counter-clockwise by one full turn increases the crimp depth by 1 mm; rotating it clockwise by one increment adjusts it by 0.01 mm (and so on). When processing a batch of hoses and fittings of the same specification, once the first metal fitting reaches the required pressure, no further adjustment to the positioner is needed for the rest of the batch; this ensures consistent compression results. After successfully crimping the first hose, you will have mastered the basics; the remaining step is simply to gain proficiency in operating the machine.
