Whether you are constructing metal frameworks or installing custom piping for architectural projects, a tube bender is an essential tool. CNC tube benders produce higher-quality bends and serve a wide range of commercial applications; they are indispensable not only in industries such as automotive manufacturing, chemicals, and furniture, but also in large-scale sectors like shipbuilding and railway engineering.
Following the installation and commissioning of the CNC tube bender, a study on its application was conducted. The initial focus was on bending a specific type of aircraft conduit. A tube measuring machine was first used to collect baseline data from an existing standard sample conduit, which was then transferred to the CNC tube bender for processing. However, the vast majority of the replicated conduits failed to meet specifications, primarily due to irregularities in the bending radii.
As the original sample conduit could not be utilized, it was decided to re-acquire and standardize samples for conduit parts used on the aircraft model that were compatible with CNC bending. Based on the capabilities of the CNC tube bender and its tooling, as well as the spatial routing of the conduits, the parts were categorized by material specifications and bending radii to determine which specific part numbers would be produced using the CNC machine. After successfully re-fabricating the sample conduits, mass production was carried out using the baseline forming data stored in the machine; the resulting conduits met spatial routing requirements and exhibited excellent quality.
Building on this success, the CNC bending process was subsequently applied to new conduit parts for various aircraft variants and to parts requiring sample re-fabrication—wherever production via CNC tube bender was feasible—thereby significantly enhancing production efficiency.
